1. Alta Wine and Beer Shop

This specialty boutique wine shop focuses on wine produced by women and BIPOC from all over the world. The shop was founded by Sommelier Ruben Morancy, who worked in many aspects of the beverage industry, from restaurants to wineries to retail. Formerly the wine director at Coi in San Francisco, Ruben developed a program of both special occasion wines and delicious wines under $30 per bottle for everyday drinking. The shop is currently run by Jaela Salala, who trained under Ruben.

The atmosphere is inviting and bustling yet relaxed. It’s a perfect place to unwind after indulging in all the deliciousness at Alta Adams next door.

2. Alta

Alta Admas offers a distinct interpretation of soul food that connects traditional West African food and California cuisine. The experience is designed to be an inclusive setting, serving comforting food and great cocktails that foster the West Adams community.

Alta Adams’ culinary vision is led by chefs Keith Corbin and Daniel Patterson. The menu they created fuses the Southern flavors and dishes Corbin grew up eating and preparing alongside his grandmother with a vibrant aesthetic and produce-driven approach.

3. Chulita

Chulita offers a unique dining experience that seamlessly blends Californian freshness with authentic Mexican flavors. With a commitment to sourcing the freshest organic produce from the Santa Monica Farmer’s Market, Chulita supports local producers while serving dishes that celebrate the rich culinary heritage of Mexico.

Their handcrafted tortillas, made from Masienda Heirloom Corn sourced from Oaxaca, Mexico, reflect a dedication to tradition and sustainability, while their menu boasts a variety of tacos featuring heirloom corn or housemade cassava flour tortillas.

At the bar, guests can enjoy drinks crafted with inspiration from the deep traditions of Mexico. From house-made tepache to infused Serrano Mezcal, Chulita offers a range of libations that pay homage to the flavors of Mexico.

4. Delicious Pizza

A lot of love and care go into making this delicious pizza. Mike Ross and Rick Ross, co-owners and partners with Rick Southerland and Travis Southerland, have created a part-pizza-shop-part-community-center known for events that reflect and expand hip-hop culture. A homage to the Delicious Vinyl label, the owners work to keep the restaurant cool, classic, and “all things dope.”

Two art galleries on the site feature revolving shows while the adjacent radio station brings together artists and DJs into the area regularly.

5. Es Con Sabor Pupuseria
